8. Crash and burn (50/90)

This one was from a GYAWS prompt, “crash”. GYAWS stands for Get Your Ass Writing Songs, heh. Rock, this one. It sounds rather similar to my other rock attempt, Thunder, I gotta admit, I’ve got to work on figuring out ways of arranging rock songs. Lots of fun trying to make the vocals badass. I only realised after the fact that the chords and melody are almost identical to Please don’t stare, lol. That’s what happens when I almost triple my songwriting rate. Never mind, another day, another song.

Crash and burn

Don’t care for cool
Don’t care for school
Only one thing on your mind
Practice those licks
Bloody fingertips
Once more, you’ll get it this time

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
Just the crash and burn

Slick-handed man
Spots you and your band
Ditch those guys, you don’t need em
Come to town
I’ll show you around
I got people, you can meet ‘em

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
Just the crash and burn

As you step in the room
All the eyes go zoom
Pawnshop guitar played like a dream
Licking your lips
Promise in your hips
When you stop the silence screams

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
Watch out don’t crash and burn

Stadiums surge
All the cities merge
Thousands of people yell out your name
Every girl wants a rose
Joy up your nose
Fingers too close to the flame

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
Watch out don’t crash and burn

Head in the sky
Flying too high
Melt as you get near the sun
Cheers turn to jeers
Shoot up your fears
Slick-handed man eggs you on

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
Just the crash and burn

Crash and burn
Won’tcha ever learn
Ain’t the fall that kills ya
We’ll watch ya crash and burn
